Buying and selling of Muslim clothing and ornaments remains brisk at the Sunyani Zongo community as Muslims commemorate the birthday of Prophet Mohammed.

They celebration witnessed the recitation of some key verses in the Quran as well as poets and Islamic songs, as families gather for alms giving.
According to some of the Muslim traders gathered at the along the Sunyani-Zongo One-way, the occasion was a joyous moment that allowed created common opportunity for them to reflect Quranic teachings and principles, values and legacies.
Speaking in an interview with Sompa FM, Madam Asana Ibrahim, a trader engaged in beads said selling business was always good during the celebration. She said during such occasions, the traders traveled the length and breadth of the country to sell, and expressed concern about inadequate washrooms at the Sunyani Zongo community for them to change themselves.
Mad Khadija Alhassan who also sells Muslim dresses expressed concern about similar sentiments, however described the celebration as relevant to promote Islamic teachings in the Zongo communities.
She said the traders always sold their wares at reduced prices in such occasions .Mad Suad Abdul Ghani, another trader said some of them traveled far from Accra, Tamale and Kumasi to Sunyani to business.
