Mankessim: Pastor Remanded For Burying 2-Year-Old Son In Church Room, Residents Shocked As Child's Body Exhumed

Rev. Israel Joseph Eshun, Founder of God Host Favor Chapel and CEO of Israel Yesu Agyeme Herbal Centre, has been remanded to 2-weeks police custody for secretly burying his 2-year-old son in a room at his uncompleted church at Mankessim Estate in the Central Region.

Residents of Mankessim Estate following the occurrence in an interaction with Sompa TV's Eric Annan, expressed shock and disappointment in Rev. Eshun's decision to take the law into his hands.

The child's body has been exhumed by the CID, accompanied by police officers of Mankessim and taken to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for autopsy.

They also exhibited upset for the pastor's denial in informing them on his child's death, despite their contribution to the child's medical expenses while on sick bed at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

Many are questioning the pastor's credibility, despite describing him as a respected figure who appeared a devoted man of God.

Residents, however, urge the police to conduct a thorough investigation in the matter, suspecting that there may be more to the incident which has left them in fear than expected. Wondering how such an act occurred in the area.

One Madam Alberta whose friend use to be a member of the church, eluded shock about the pastor, judging how he's in the area.

Background

The Founder and Head Pastor of God Host Favor Chapel who doubles as CEO of Israel Yesu Agyeme Herbal Centre, Rev. Israel Joseph Eshun is said to have buried his two-year-old deceased son in his uncompleted church room at Mankessim Estate in the Mfantseman Municipality in the Central Region.

Information available to Sompa TV's Eric Annan indicate that the deceased following his demise, was battling cancer and was declared not to survive the sickness by the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital due to the extent of damage it has caused in the boy's system, upon days of admission at the hospital.

In view of this, the two-year-old boy was discharged by the hospital, but sadly passed away on the way home with his father.

Devastated over the occurrence, the pastor upon arrival, took the body of his deceased son to his church which is under-construction and buried him in a room at the worship centre, without the knowledge of anyone, not even his pregnant wife with their second child.

The wife having delayed a while at the hospital to meet up with the doctor in charge of their late son's treatment, since her husband was angry enough not to wait, got home to ask of the boy from the husband, only for him to lead her to the place he buried their son.

Christiana McCarthy, aslo known as Maame Ama, wife to the pastor in an interview, narrated her ordeal in the hands of her husband.

According to her, despite the fact that she is 8-months 3-weeks pregnant, her husband is fond of beating her always. Thus, the reason for reporting him which led to the revelation on the burial of their late son.

The pastor is currently with the Jedu Divisional Police Command in Mankessim, assisting the police with investigation after his arrest on Tuesday, June 3 around 7:30pm.
