The Lead Convernor for New Voter forum for Joint CSO's Port Advisory and Exposition, Conqueror Korto Mawudzo has called for urgent reforms in Ghana's port and shipping sector, citing concerns over alleged irregularities affecting exporters and traders.

‎Speaking at the Joint CSOs Port Advocacy and Exposition press conference on key port reforms, Mr. Korto alleged that some service providers at the ports collect fees from customers without fully delivering the services they are mandated to provide.

‎ He argued that such practices increase the cost of doing business and undermine confidence in the country's export system.

‎Korto also expressed concern over what he described as misleading actions by some authorities within the health and regulatory framework, which he believes create unnecessary challenges for businesses operating in the export space.

‎He therefore urged the government and relevant state agencies to review existing regulations and implement reforms that promote transparency, accountability, and efficiency within the shipping and logistics sector.

‎According to him, addressing these challenges will help improve trade facilitation, enhance Ghana's competitiveness, and create a more business-friendly environment for exporters and investors.
